A quick straw poll reveals that between the four of us in my lab, we have: 1 Medical Degree, 1 Doctorate, 2 Master's Degrees and 3 Bachelors Degrees. Not underqualified by any means, you'd have to agree.

So why on *earth* didn't we realise that the power had gone to the laser because the plug wasn't in the socket until *after* I'd rung the engineer to come and fix it?

Be afraid, be *very* afraid...

Oh come now! Who hasn't done that at least once?

Does it count as four times as there were four of them?

At least *I* wasn't the one who volunteered to fill up the liquid nitrogen tanks, leave the hose running, go off and do something else while they were filling *and forget about it totally*. End result a room with a floor covered in liquid nitrogen. Now that was...cold...

Man, that's dangerous, too! Kinda funny at the same time, but people could have suffocated!

Coulda been, but we have oxygen depletion monitors that alarm when the concentration of oxygen in the air drops to 16% (you pass out at 15%). They weren't going off, so we just opened every door and window we could and waited!
