The girl showed True Grit!
Websailor Posted Feb 12, 2005
Hi, Carole,
My fault for going "off message" with this thread. Yes, 40 was just about the time my other half turned Victor. I think it is something to do with a drop in Testosterone levels, in some departments anyway I suppose we should be grateful that didn't send them off looking for *partners* new!
What date in June is your Ruby Wedding? In spite of the short lifespan of marriages these days there seem to be a lot of Ruby Weddings around in the last year or two, so the Baby Boomers haven't done too badly, in spite of at least half having been divorced. We have managed almost 32 years, with a lot up ups and downs along the way, not of our making
I wonder if WE shall all become Victorias eventually?
Must or Victor will be telling my I'm

Thanks my dear.
No you are not talking to a yet, but I might quite easily come and talk on this site at a later date!!
Yes psoriatic means psoriasis in the joints!!. Except that it does not itch -does not look unsightly, is just jolly painful and sandpapers away at your cartilage. I had never heard of it until I came to England.!!
Have a great weekend my dear. I am looking forward to the rugby. also it is my eldest son's 56th birthday tomorrow. WOW how time flies!.

Excuse me for eavesdropping AlsoRan - but there are kind of two conversations going on here aren't there?
When you said psioratic arthritis I imagined the illness that Dennis Potter had. I guess it is similar but you seem not to have the awful skin part of it. Sorry to hear of your illness, but you are bearing it with commendable fortitude.
Best wishes Carole

Hi Carole,
sorry about the double topics!!
You are right -I do not have the awful skin part, but I did have it ike that in Africa but not as badly as DP. I have however had my hands peel until I no longer have any fingerprints (I would mae a good burglar!!) and lost all my nails on both hands.
the things we get. It is really stupid.!!
Keep well, and I shan't mention it again. It is just that I am really upset about my stupid toe!!.

Ooooh that does sound nasty - I have eczema and psoriasis (very mildly) but I do know how itchy and then painful it can be. Nothing like your problem though. Funnily enough my skin rashes were much worse when I was in Zambia. I had to have allergy tests (25 of which were positive). A serum was then made up for me in South Africa and I had a weekly injection for the whole three years which kept me free of the rashes. A good reason not to stay when our three years were up.
Keep Smiling - Carole -

Has she not become a 'dame' by title ? "
The girl showed True Grit!
Websailor Posted Feb 20, 2005
Yes, it was announced that she would be made a Dame on the day she landed in Falmouth.
She was in London at Tower Bridge today to meet and thank her fans. I found out that she set up a charity to take children recovering from cancer on sailing weekends, after she joined a similar organisation in France, and saw what confidence and joy it gave the children.
So she doesn't do everything for her own gain, as some have suggested!
