h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It is rainy and cold today and would be a perfect day for a nap. Especially good since I didn't sleep well last night. I was woken twice by the . Once to go out and again to be let back in. He's 12, and lately he can't get through the night without going out, like he used to. He is napping comfortably now, but I am not sleepy at all. I've tried napping twice.

Instead I am anxious and antsy and can't get comfortable in my chair. I am afraid of unpleasant phone calls or texts. I cringe every time my phone alerts me to an earthquake because I'm afraid it's going to be one of those texts.

I do feel better than I did during that Santa Ana. My nose is normal at least. The rain is nice and needed. I think we're going to have a wet winter. We have some volunteer sunflowers in our back yard. I hope they come back next year.

I am also anxious because I have this project I have to do, and I am resisting doing it. It's in Excel and it's pretty easy to do, but I don't want to do it. I just have to update it and pass it on the someone who is taking over my position with a club I'm involved with. I also have to make up a list of duties for this position for the person who is taking it over. I just hope that when he sees the list of duties, he doesn't balk at doing the job. I'm afraid I may have underplayed the commitment when I recruited him for the job. I know this is all very vague, but there may be locals reading this, and ya know I gotta remain anonymous and all.

Another topic I wanted to cover in this journal is how happy I am to be involved in NaJoPoMo. It's been a great way to meet new people since I've returned to Hootoo after a long absence. I am sad about all the people who seem to have left more or less permanently. There are some people I really miss, but it is nice to be meeting so many nice new people (new to me anyway) and reconnecting with people who've been here all along.

I'm certainly glad that you have returned to h2g2 and definitely pleased to see you take part in this Challenge. Good luck with the writing, I like your style, nice and chatty and makes me feel as if I am getting to know you a bit.
