If anybody hasn't seen them yet, I recommend you go have a look.
...and does anybody think this quote is kinda strange, given the context?: "The site is one of many protected archeological sites on the NTS." NTS, in this case, standing for Nevada Test Site; where nuclear testing is done on behalf of the Department of Energy.

Okay, now that I've got those links stored safely, I guess I can carry on with a journal... quickly! Before people start replying to my posts and I can't keep up!
Started the new job yesterday! I can tell I'm going to like it /lots/!
The boss and one of the other service reps flew up from wellington for the day, to meet me and show me around the offices... and also to get a couple of other jobs done on the side.
Showed me 'round, set up my profile on the national network, etc... I now have five e-mail addresses! What the heck am I going to do with them all?!
The boss bought me lunch, then went to the other office to meet everyone there... I'm sure that's the same place my sister used to work!
Everyone's really friendly, but I'm going to have my work cut out for me over the next month or so... It's going to take a while to find my feet after being thrown in the deep end, but that's okay I'll float.
Stopped by the manpower offices on the way home (the recruitment agency I was with, which got me the job) and told Monique all about it; she could see I was still buzzing! She's very glad for me, and I'm glad for me too. Way me! I've finally got a job which pays a decent amount, and it looks like I'll be respected and supported by the co-workers, too! Let's hope the office doesn't get shut down soon.

Did you look at the first two links?
Rather than me writing another journal for it, I'll just post here that I just finished an online IQ test:
"Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace."

It's a bit dangerous saying I know everything!
You may be on your own on this one... I tried it twice and the first time I tripped over in the dark, and the second time I got splatted by a bulldozer coming in through the wall...
So don't bother doing the IQ test if you don't want to. They're useless anyway. They're based on the research of Binet and Spearman, circa 1890, and cognitive scientists/neuroscientists/psychologists these days know that they're /very/ inaccurate, which is why I didn't post the IQ it gave me. But they're fun to do anyway.

well.. its ture! i ask you a question and you always know the answer!!!
how did you get to be so smart?
thats ok i cant seem to get past being splatted by the buldozer... my brother can though.... maybe i'll ask him, and then tell you...
i wont worry about iq tests anymore then. thanks jerms

I don't /always/ know the answer... I just don't mind google'ing sometimes.
"How did you get to be so smart?" I asked questions!
I suspect the bulldozer always hits after a certain number of moves, so perhaps if you do the right things in the right order then you can be out of the house already? Just guessing.

"...I don't ask questions..." Yes you do! You keep asking me!
"...it has to do with the way you deal with ford..." I didn't even see him! I was trying to brush my teeth and the bulldozer killed me!
"Which online IQ test was it?" I... don't. Know. I'm pretty sure I found it using yahoo. So it /might/ be this one: http://web.tickle.com/tests/uiq/

well as a general rule i dont ask questions... but you're differnent. i trust you, and i dont think you're going to think i'm stupid...
oh, you were in the house when the buldozer ran you over? i never thought of brushing my teeth before... did you take the asprin?

No I don't think you're stupid. Asking questions does not make someone stupid. It makes them smart.
Yeah I was still in the house! I hadn't even made it out of the bedroom! If you mean the asprin thingee in the pocket of the gown, yes I took it and the room stopped spinning. But I'd spent ages dropping things and falling over before I found it, so I thought I'd taken too long in the house and that's why I got run over.
I'll try again sometime soon, but I'll just clear my backlog of posts first...

"Thanks for not thinking I'm stupid." Anytime!
My browser just died... I've lost about six replies and I can't remember which threads they were from, and I've lost the entry I'd just started writing, too.
I want something fun to happen, so I stop feeling sorry for myself.
