Good to see H2G2 is still doing it's thing.
I'm still doing my thing - busy busy.

Holy wow! Now that's a h2g2-face I didn't expect to see again!
Good to see you, sir. And Nuke told me to say hi from him, too.

Yeah, what she said.
Glad the rumors were highly exaggerated.

Freeow.
Quite moved to have contact with you again.
Are you two still together?
I've been busy with business (my school - two locations now), family (now with kids), and circuit racing (my car - nismo). Still in Japan.
What's been going on over there (wherever there is)?

Happy to see you too, Haik. I think I tried emailing you some time ago (how much time, I have no idea; possible a year or more, even), and when there was no reply assumed you were no longer using that address.
And have been wondering what you've been up to; sounds like it's going well, which is good to hear. Kids, plural? Wow. How many? Ages?
Dan and I are still together, yes. Also, still apart. Life circumstances have not really allowed either of us to move permanently (or even semi-permanently, which I've tried - applying for a PhD is the States some time back - but unsuccessfully). We really want to get there, though.
As for other news... well, Dan could tell you himself about his own stuff, since once again your return has finally coaxed him to step back into h2g2. Thanks for that, I suppose. Me, I'm working on a Masters thesis now, which will allow me to start my PhD here. And which I really have to finish already. *sigh* Taking too long. Also working occasionally in translation (I'm about to sign my first book translation contract, in fact) and related stuff. Which is not terribly profitable, so I'm still living with my parents. Started looking for an apartment some time ago, but then we had a bit of a family crisis (see my journal, under the title 'Hardheaded') and things kinda got messed up for a while.
And h2g2-wise, I'm afraid you'll find a lot of the old MotMV bunch are no longer around, being either AWOL or actually dead (F1754719?thread=6944608 ). I suppose you could try the old 'putting the band back together' thing, if you want, but I've kind of despaired of it working. Still, now that you two are back, who knows?

Sorry to read about your cousin. I hope he pulls through.
I can't complain about anything. Japan has been through some stuff this year, but fortunately I've been OK.
I have one daughter, but I'm also constantly around my sister-in-law's two kids. They range from 2 to 7, so it's always pretty chaotic.
I'm impressed that you're going for a PhD. Good luck!
Unfortunately, I really don't have the time to frequent chat rooms and such, but I'll try to check in on interesting posts and keep in touch.

Haven't been here in a while. Before this, I mean. Lost the ability to log in, after the BBC made some changes. Anyway, in the meantime, last year or so, been going back to school.
Because she's the smart one, I'm working on my associate's degree, which I never finished, because I joined the Navy, and all that. So, back at it now.
Mostly science and math, thus far, but still have some prerequisite classes, so get an interesting one every now and then. Currently taking sculpture, in addition (not a math joke) to calculus 3 and engineering graphics.
The end result of which will be... I have no idea. Probably hope to transfer to some four year school, as this is just at a community college, so far, and go for a bachelor degree. It's not like they're handing out jobs at a high rate of speed, here in the good ol' USA.
But. we'll figure that out, someday.
It's very good to hear from you, and I'm glad things are going well. Well, apart from earthquakes, and nuclear meltdowns. Keep out of trouble, eh?

Hey, man. I think it's always a good idea to go for education, whether it leads to something specific or not. Good luck with your studies. Sculpture sounds cool, I was always hopeless at math. I wrote many 42 answers on tests and homework - don't know how I passed.

Every time I stop by here, I do this in the wrong order - starting with reading through the backlog, and setting aside the things I want to reply to. Then by the time I get to them, I can't remember what I was going to say.
It's good to hear you're safe. I remember thinking of your when there've been all the disasters earlier this year. How close were you to them? Were you (or anyone you know) ever in any danger?
I'm sorry if this comes out a bit ignorant. I'm somewhat used to this from the other side ('no, the rockets never got as far as Jerusalem, everything is fine'... and so on), so a bit self-conscious about inflicting it on others, but sitll, I'm curious.
Anyway, other than safety, just good to hear things are going well in general. I'm sure your daughter's adorable. And bilingual kids are always really awesome (it's the way they switch in the middle of a sentence, or use the patterns from one language in another; but, well, it's just that I like language so I like figuring it out, and generally find it all very cool). Umm... not sure what else. Like I said, doing this all wrong.
*shrug* Ah well. Wrote enough, I suppose. Take care!
