I think my problem with the Tao of Pooh (and its sequel/s) is that I like the Pooh books so much... so all this seems to me like milking them for 'New-Age' insights that weren't really there.

New Age? Taoism is from ancient China. I thought Hoff did a fine job of explaining Lao Tzu's core teaching in an accessable way using a relevant modern source.

Well, the whole idea behind New Age is that they haven't really made anything new, they're just re-discovering the ancient oriental wisdoms and then commercialising them. And it's just that I like Pooh too much as a Silly Old Bear to be able to see him as a Taoist scholar in disguise.
