Well the funeral was yesterday, (Mon. 4th) it all went according to plan.. It was a lovely service both in church and at the grave side.. I'm not really a religious person, but the minister did Mam proud, she would have approved...
My youngest daughter had written a piece about her Nan that she wanted to read out in church.. Wasn't sure she'd manage it, but she took a deep breath and read it through without faltering, we're all so proud of her.. Think Mam gave her the strength to do it...
Her family and friends did her proud with the turn out... We had a buffet and drinks afterwards to toast her life...

Awww, so glad it went well. I bet that little 'un was nervous; public speaking at such an occasion, for her. And for the Minister too, it must be difficult dealing with this sort of thing constantly.

I think funerals/wakes definitely are necessary ceremonies, remember the good stuff, an opportunity for everyone to talk openly about the person. And then *sigh* move on with your own lives, knowing one day it will be our turn, but not right now, so make the most of life.

I think you are being really brave & good, hope all "us lot" on here help give you strength.
