They're real, from a day trip to Dublin before they went Euro.

Incredible faces on them! Presumably the Irish Euro is the same as the French one? Dunno how all the EU stuff works; not been out of France since the euro arrived; the franc continued alongside it for ages & even now the prices are displayed in francs too quite often.
But "in theory" i should be able to pitch up in Eire clutching my suitcase full of Euros from frogland & merrily use them no probs

Euro notes are the same throughout the EU but coinage does vary from one state to the next. But wherever your euro was minted it's can be tender across the zone.
