oh! sounds like lots of fun!
after i get off here i'm going to bed
actually first i might go and make a bit of a mess in a closet...
someone here mentioned a hand knitted blanket, and suddenly i want the one my grandma knitted for us. but i'm afraid i dont really know where it is. so could take a bit of searching, and messing.... and probably more time then i have now.

thank you
aww...
no special knitwear?
well to be honest this blanket doesnt mean too too much to me, beyond the fact my grandma knitted it. in fact i hadnt seen it in years. but as soon as knitted blankets were mentioned i suddenly really wanted it...

nope, I've got special books, records and pictures, oh, and a couple of ornaments I've had for a while have sentimental value

right... well you know the girl emma befriends...? harriet i think her name is....
i never liked her much. i thought she was silly... only qite to my horror i think we have something in common.
you know when she saves that bit of plaster from when mr elton cut his finger, and the pencil he used..... well its just the sort of thing i might do. i mean not quite that silly... but keeping somethng trivial, because i attach some memory to it...

I don't think its silly so long as you don't become obsessive about the things and forget about the people
just not the sort of thing I've ever done but then I can be very sentimental in other ways

dont worry. i wont forget about the people. and i'm not as silly as harriet. infact i'm trying to get rid of my pack rattyness.... (is rattyness a word? i dont think so...)
sentimental in otherways? i can only think of it as in keeping things because it reminds me of something...

things like songs or films I associate with people or places or particular times in my life
some books or films can make me quite depressed etc (and not because they're bad! the opposite rather)

*raises hand*
yep... guilty of that too!
see.... just very sentimental.... i do wish i wasnt like that.

not sure its a bad thing
just rather annoying for other people some of the time, thats their problem

I hope rattyness is a word. It really ought to be a word.
We had snow on Christmas day--just one day's worth, and then it went. The bookies must be livid.
Hope you enjoy watching your Christmas pressie, B'cat.

yes, it was a kitchens utensils and DVD-dominated load of Xmas presents
didn't get any books, will have to hit the sales

my mistake, all my books this year I checked as available in a branch of Waterstones in Birmingham
pity is it was the academic branch so normal Waterstones don't carry them and apparently the family left it to late to order them
mind you they did manage to find me a DVD copy of a 1929 German silent film for me so they are not totally useless

'Pandora's Box', surprise, surprise, it's a Louise Brooks film
but it is actually pretty watchable although like most silent films a lot of the people in it overact
Louise Brooks didn't though, she was quite naturalistic, way ahead of her time in acting style
I'd seen it before but it's nice to have my own copy
