hiya MV, in work this weekend
going to take a look at your new picture soon, always liked the Incas
think they would be more likely to eat a chinchilla than worship it

Poor thing, stuck at work...well you have hootoo at least! that's got to soften the blow somewhat knowing that you can come on here and get paid for it AND look busy...
RE: Chins, true they were valued for their meat and coats, and still are valued for their coats.
Thanks for taking an interest

This is why I work nights , that and the extra money
god knows what I'll do when my shoes and jacket fall apart, no more buying leather for me
it is interesting, I'm planning to go to Peru sometime and will probably bring back lots of "genuine" Peruvian stuff actually made in a sweatshop in Lima
looking forward to actually seeing it (probably on Monday)

When I was younger, I had a bit of a hero-worship thing going with Yevgeny Yevtushenko...

I suppose that (good right-wing poetry) is possible? (I haven't come across any, but then I wouldn't..)

I think it must in theory be, but I haven't come across any that I can recall either. Perhaps like the having all the best tunes the left has all the best poets

I did wonder how long it would take before a moderator noticed and yikesed us for breaking a measly few copyright laws for the BBC...
I've written a couple of poem thingys when I was a love lorn teenager - that have been long lost. Then revived it some when the hubbie and I were courting no one else has seen them tho...and I like it that way it would ruin my street cred.

Ah, so that's what happened - copyright laws! Oh dear... Yes, MV, post your poetry, I'd love to see some... I have a few of my pomes on my space, but they are (a) not very good, and (b) political..

Will have to take a look
20-odd years since I've written poetry so I don't think I'll make you suffer by writing any of my own

Awww, thanks for showing an interest, but it appears they are lost in Geo's stuff...I can't find them, what a shame I don't want to go thro sifting thro his tin of memories...it's personal to him.
Actually its funny where we keep our keepsakes, memorabila and bits n' bobs from the past. Geo has a knee high tin that once stored shortning (fat) ahh dunno, I just find that really funny.....me I keep mine in an hard tapestry/material box/bag like thing.
I hadn't noticed poetry in your ps either Adela, will have to look

It's some way back, most of it...
My special stuff is in (one of) the wardrobes, now in a couple of zipped pouches that belonged to my brother - and the rest is in a suitcase I keep by the door (something I learned from an old lady whose house collapsed in a landslide in 1981. She was the only one in the street (the whole thing collapsed) who had salvaged anything - by following her old father's advice to always keep a bag packed with essentials in case of disaster...)
