h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Much to my suprise I've completed the first year of my degree course . I didn't think I'd make it, going back to education after this length of time away and surrounded by young geeky types on a computing course (apologies to any geeky types present).

The first semester seemed OK, just getting back into the swing of education and the regime of "learn and revise". Was dead chuffed when the first semester results came through and found I'd done really well, though sailed a bit close to the wind with the Web Techniques module almost needing a resit to understand HTML. If it hadn't been for the Study Support team, the Quantatative Methods (that's a fancy name for maths) would have got the better of me.

Second semester was a bit tougher but somehow better - maybe I was getting used to this studying lark. This was my first introduction to any programming languages, we're learning Java with this cute little package called BlueJ. I think I'll be spending parts of the Summer revising the programming module, somehow I don't think next year is going to be such easy going.
