Well - that's me caught up with all my threads having been away for a while. I've updated all my drop-down menus, as the GuideML tags have been changed, and I didn't know - until Ottox clued me in.

I used to keep guinea pigs that loved spinach.
There was a news item on the TV recently about the discovery of a new dinosaur that was related to the guinea pig - only it was the size of a buffalo!!
Now that would be a lot of spinach to keep one of those going!!

Elephants? Or Just Niwt? Posted Sep 24, 2003
I heard about that too. I imagine they'd be pretty nifty.
Our guinea pigs...well I think they eat spinach, but they don't love it. But today one of 'em had four babies!!! They're gorgeous!!! When I'm logged in as Niwt I'll write a journal entry about it. They're so cool!

That one used to belong to my lads, but got given to my girlfriend's Dad, when it's companion shuffled off this mortal coil, so as he's got five others I don't think so.

Ah....fair enough. Out of our four new ones there are two boys and two girls.

Browny, mainly, like Dad. None of the five babies those two have had in total look like Mum, except for one who had a bit of Mum's white stripe. Dad is already going for the girl babies. We've also realised that the first baby, born a few months ago, who we thought was a boy (well, everybody else did, not me) is probably a girl, now we've seen the real boys, the new ones. So the first baby went to live with another boy, who was owned by a friend of my sister. And if it's a girl...whoops...I guess they'll find out when it gets pregnant...hee hee.

It's been a while since I up ended a Guinea Pig for that specific reason and I'm sure it wasn't too easy to tell. The text books always make things like that look a lot more obvious than the particular animal you're looking at IRL!!

Well, our animals were okay....I guess....why haven't you done it to guinea pigs recently? No new ones? Or you just don't care?

No new ones. I just haven't got the room for Guinea Pigs in the house, they have to come in during the winter. That said, we've only got a yard out the back - no grass, so we wouldn't really have anywhere for them to run out on sunny days.

Ours can mostly stay outside during the winter. We don't know what to do with 'em when we go away. Soon. I have a mouse too. What do they eat if there's no grass? (Just spinach?)
