Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Started conversation Jan 5, 2002
Got myself along to my digs last night as I'd heard of a severe weather warning that would make things awkward for me in the morning. I'm generally in the habbit of leaving at about 4am, so fog and ice would not have been condusive to arriving at work on time. I got in round about 11:15pm. At midnight there was a noise to wake the dead going on outside - don't fear it didn't last long - not outside at any rate. The four partygoers turned out to be two of my housemates and their girlfriends....
Needless to say I didn't get the beauty sleep I so richly deserved

They weren't so noisy last night, I was aware they came in, but I went straight back to sleep.

I am glad. I got really fed up with living in digs for just that kind of reason. That an never knowing if the stuff you put in the fridge would still be there when you wanted it! I guess that is one advantage of living alone

I don't even leave anything in the fridge, I purely rest my head. I use the shower at work, because it's fantastic and there's a cleaner, so I don't need to bother with that - or get upset because someone in the house has left that one in a mess.
I'm pretty OK with my own company, I can do what I want etc etc, that's not to say I don't enjoy company.

Sounds like a great place to work - not having to clean up after yourself! I would love to have a cleaner - I hate all that stuff!
Knowing any meess is your own is a positive of living alone although it means you cant blame anyone else!
The I can do what I want when I want etc is the big advantage of living alone and one I cherish
I enjoy having my own place, my own space and the independence of ot all. Its been a while now since I shared with anyone and I am not sure how easy it will be when and if the time comes to share again!
I like my own company now I am getting to like me (and that has been a challange). That having been said I enjoy spending time with people, but on my own terms and when I want - not all the time! I do a job which means I spend all day communicating and being with people and the contrast to being at home is great. I have come to the conclusion that I do need people about - but I need space too. I would like for there to be someone special, but I am not sure how I would deal with them if they were around all the time!

I only lived alone for a few months, but it was fantastic. Like you say all the mess is your own. I thought I kept a tidy house - even though I say it myself. You learn to be independant like that in the Air Force.... That said, I was always good at cleaning before then, I used to do loads of stuff round the house when I was a kid for pocket money.

It is great except when you find the house messy and have to admit it was you!
I find it very uninteresting doing the housework and am not that good at it! I would love to have a cleaner ...
Fancy a job?

Well it would help me somewhat!
Its not easy to find a cleaner round here
How is the job search going? What sort of thing are you looking to do? (I am doing a fair amount with technical recruitment agencies at the moment ... )

I'll get right on it. I've just been showing it to one of the guys at work - who was quite impressed with the layout, I think he might "borrow" some ideas.

If I got a perm I would look like David Coverdale (But only in my dreams)
Either.
At the end of the day Permanent would be better, but there would have to be an equation to balance. Geography, salary, the job itself, working hours etc. I'm teaching you how to suck eggs here I think....

You are too kind
Be as professional as you like - it's a serious business I always like dealing with professionally minded people. I've met so many bumblers and stumblers ove the years.
