h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I wonder what has happened to all the official entries I sent to H2G2.... Maybe they have a Total Perspective Vortex at the office in London because they seem to disappear in a black hole...

And don't say I'm not patient because the first entry(which still has to be approved) is now 29 weeks old ! That is 7 months and 1 week !

I wonder why lots of entries have been accepted that were just weeks old and mine have not even been rejected ! Is there a conspiracy going on here...?

As I can't find an email-address to ask about this at H2G2 I hope to hear other peoples experiences. Maybe we can set up a list of the oldest not-yet-approved entries on H2G2 ?

Well I DID IT !

I just deleted about 5 guide-entries because :

A) They would probably have been rejected.
B) They were not in line with the requirements of official entries(I guess)
C) My oldest post is now ONLY 13 weeks old ! It just looks nicer to see you have only waited for 13 weeks instead of 29 !

The ones that are still there will not be deleted ever....not before they are rejected......or accepted of course...

What made you think that the earlier ones would be rejected!I trust that you saved them somewhere just in case

Well my first rejection took 3 months - and then they came in a rush. I don't know if it's worth it.
Now I've been waiting another 3 months for the next lot.

To quote Monthy Python : LUXURY !

Only three months...??? Read the thread, I deleted the oldest three submissions because they were :

- not good enough(in my opinion)
- I didn't want to have one of those rejected and then wait for another 6 months !

I know I am being terribly arrogant but I have read worse official articles than the ones I have submitted...and a lot more recent ones at that...

I don't mean to pester the H2G2-editors with this but as they have no email-address there is no other way to vent my dissatisfaction. The rest of H2G2 is SOOOOO good that it's a shame that this annoys me so much...I want to improve my writing-skills so I would like a helping hand from real editors as here with the guide...

If I may jump in: I think I have read some pretty horrible guide entries! AND I have seen much better rejected articles, just as you have said, TM. But, as it reads, "some articles are included because they seemed to be a good idea at the time"

Well the thing is (I think) : say you or me or anyone else writes 20 articles in 6 months - all a bit in the same style - only to find out after 6 months that it's not what the editors are looking for. That's a damn shame...
