Take the Long Road Home

Must say, kinda' nice to be back. Been, shall I say, an interesting year (to say the least).

The big news is Monsy and I have parted company. Not to worry, it has been an amicable divorce. At least there is that part that is good. It was bad enough to lose her as a wife, I'd find it tragic to lose her friendship as well.

While you're out and about, trot over to Monsys' page. Check the link in her intro on the word "ex-husband"........thanx Monsy!!!!LOL

Now, if I can just remember how to edit my page. I got a few cobbwebbs to clear. If I know me I'll burn the room down cleanimg them out.

'Till later...

"Goodnight Sweet Princess, Wherever You Are."

'ello, Sporky......glad you clarified that, I'd never have guessed who you were otherwise!

Yeah. We couldn't part any other way. Shes' too good to be mad at.

We just found different goals in life. Thats' not new, thats' how my first marriage ended.

Think I'll stay single now. Two dead ends are enough....I'm gettin' too old to invest the time in another long term relationship. Besides, there isn't much of a "market" out there for functional alcaholic, lazy, homely, non-athletic men!LOL

Beyond that, how ARE things here at hootoo? Haven't been in here in a while. Do you have any recomeended sites? (found the Trekkie site...,just got to get time to explore!)

This place has gotten so big I find it hard to get around...or maybe I'm just getting old!smiley - winkeye

Shes' 20 now, still as big as ever. Still as crazy as ever and still as sweet.

She's job hunting and she and a girlfriend are house hunting. I think she'll do fine....as soon as all of the "teenager" wears off! smiley - winkeye

Monsy's son Kieth is living with Monsy now. You'd never know he and Tamara are related. He's a quiet, mannerly, straight A 16 year old.

Overall, I must say I'm quite proud of both my ex-stepkids.

I've missed the info on Dr. Who.....guess I need to get out from under my rock from time to time!smiley - winkeye

The H2G2 movie is a MUST SEE....even if I have to go to the theater alone.....and even if it sux!LOL Can't wait to see how close my imagination of the characters matches the producers'.

Being from where I am, I'm afraid my only contact with the trilogy is through the books.

Should be a fun weekend!smiley - smiley

Sorry about the marriage NM, fortunately I've heard about worse divorces than you apparently went through.

That movie hrmmmm... I have several reviews and they're all different. Critics, what *are* they good for...

Well, now I've seen the movie, I'm happy with it. Since Douglas had enormous input into the making of the movie, how could it be otherwise?

It pretty much sticks to the book- some small changes, and a few cuts here and there, but basically the story is the same. There's more of "love triangle" thing going on with Trillian, Arthur, and Zaphoid- but they don't let it get in the way of the story. And what changes there are just make it a bit more interesting to someone who's read the books about a dozen times (myself).

Zaphoid's second head isn't where it used to be (perched on his shoulder like a parrot) in the olde BBC television mini-series, but it also works in it's new locale.

Dr. Who just plain rules. They used to show it on PBS over here, and I don't know if they show it on BBC-America since when Comcast (yeah, you assholes certainly changed the way I think about my cable company!
GRRRRR!) took over my cable network down here they changed my "basic digital" package so it didn't include all the commercial-stations in the package, and I refuse to pay premium prices for something they re-broadcast for free. But, I'm not going there. I'd stay too long... hehehehe.

The new Doctor Who has production values far above and beyond the olde days of even the latest previous Doctor- Sylvester McCoy. Thank God for 3D-Studio Max! hahahahaha....

Wasn't it Douglas Adams who was talking about the former BBC ban on tentacles or anything in their Sci-Fi scripts? Seems it cost them dearly when they did "The Tripods" (from that John Christopher trilogy which included "The White Mountains", "The City of Gold and Lead", and
"The Pool of Fire") simply because of the tentacles the tripods used to manipulate persons and things.

Lots of tentacles in the new Doctor Who- like when Rose's boytoy get's eaten by a living-plastic trashcan...

I also just saw Return of the Sith at the IMAX up at the Great Mall of Georgia in Buford. Most excellent. It was worth the 150-mile round trip to see it in that format...
