I enjoy meetings. They are one oft maligned aspect of office life I don't have a problem with. Of course, I seldom have to participate very much, and they are almost always useful, so maybe our meetings are different from most.

Even if meetings aren't useful, they can still be quite fun.
One method of livening up a dreary staff meeting is to play a random word game. Requiring 2 or more players who are attending the meeting, each is given a list of 4 or 5 words chosen due to their lack of relevance to the situation. For example, "ferile", "mammal", "discotheque" and "squirmy" would be good starters. The object of the game is to get these words into the meeting discussion in a semi-relevant way. One point for each word, double word score if they are used in the same sentence. Points can later be redeemed for chocolate biscuits, friday night drinks or whatever. Fun for hours.
On the negative side, other meeting-goers may suspect that you and your co-conspirators have lost the plot.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
