Househunting....

You would think it's pretty easy, househunting... The intended victims are quite large, have few hiding places, rarely change location (and move slowly when they do), leave tracks that lead right up to the front door, and have mostly non-lethal defense systems. If this is all true, then why is househunting sooooo hard? I mean, you're not allowed to go find one you like, knock it over the head, kick the previous hunters out, and move right on in. You have to give someone that green, leafy stuff with pictures of dead presidents on it to be able to get your prized yarn collection in out of the rain. And it's not just a leaf or two, but whole TREES-FULL of the leafy-stuff. In fact, there are people who are more than willing to loan you a couple trees from their orchard for you to procure one of these yarn-covers, so long as you give them back more leaves than they gave you, and over a LOOOOONG period of time! Who thought this up?? I'm about ready to go look for a nice, quiet cave to put my yarn in; somewhere out of the way where no one wants to put yarn in the first place.

::sigh::

I think I've figured out the problem with my hunting method... The problem is hunting in committee... Getting a committe to agree on anything except raising their own income is procedure that moves at a galatial pace. Thus, as a solitary house-hunter, I see prey, evaluate to see if it is the "one for me," then move in for the kill (Kill for the move-in??). However, as the head hunter of the committee, even though I've been at this for a week, and feel I should be able to move in *NOW*, I must bow to the pace of the Committe and reconcile myself with "schedule Coordination" and concerns with "location" and "Neighborhoods", etc. Not to mention "Price negotiation", "Appraisals", "Realtor Scheduling", and the dreaded potential "Loan Paperwork." Ah well. Tomorrow's another day and a half...
