"spend time in a beer garden now and then" ?? More like as often as possible - unfortunately not as often as I'd like
Sounds like you are having Melbourne weather ... they say here that if you don't like the weather in Melbourne, just wait an hour. It's very "4 seasons in one day" and Sydney people always pick on Melbournians about their weather. The odd thing is that Sydney actually has a higher rainfall but Melbourne has more rainy days.
I find it quite strange that people stress out so much about the weather when there's nothing you can do about it.
BTW - I am quite jealous of AGB going to the London meet - I'm trying to organise one in Sydney again but it is so small (last time only 4 Researchers) - it would be terrific to go to a big organised one like London

Heck, we're having amazing Scottish weather! Today we are having the highest winds for years! The Tay Road and Rail bridges are crossed, part of the Riverside drive is closed...... traffic chaos abounds, and the floodgates in Perth have been closed, roofs off, trees down..... The Police are saying not to travel unless you absolutely have to! Friends of mine have booked their beds for tonight at my place, just in case they can't get home! It is quite spectacular to see the white horses and spray on the river. The forecast was for 90mph gusts, some have been higher!!! Is this comparable to Sydney or Melbourne???
Well, when I said I like beer gardens now and again,... I would point out that in Scotland, we don't get enough beer garden weather!
I'm trying to think who we slag about bad weather and I can't think who it is right now (possibly we poor souls in Dundee, but more likely it'll be Fort William, the wettest place in Britain, allegedly?). Weather is popular here for conversations and stress, because it changes so often! (a bit like Melbourne!)
Yes, AGB is lucky! There was a Scottish one in Glasgow before Christmas, but I couldn't go . Still, I'll try again for the next one! It's a shame only 4 of you managed to meet in Sydney, but, at least you got see some of your fellow Hoo-Toos! Maybe next time you'll get more. I wouldn't mind meeting in Sydney, but, I'll need to save the airfare....

It did!! It disappeared from my home space and landed in my journal
I just wanted to save it for posterity (or posterior) or whatever.
If I wrote in my journal more often it would disappear quicker
Are you checking up on me???
