Earthquakes in Manchester

Post 1

The Apprentice

There was another earthquake this morning at 9.27am... and it felt odd to be in the office and suddenly feel the furniture moving around you. It was like someone throwing a stone into a pond and the ripples spreading steadily outwards, rolling out in an unstoppable wave.

There was a dull, low-level grumbling noise like a train passing and my monitor wobbled, then I felt the ripple pass under my feet and chair. It literally felt like the movie 'Tremors', as it felt like something had crawled - at speed - under the carpet beneath my chair and desk. It was the strangest experience - as one of my colleagues said, it was really shaky.

I would really like to know why we're getting so many little shocks over such a short period of time.
