Have just been picking all my modules to do in my first year at uni, and it's more complicated than the reasons why Chris Evans is so popular. I guess the powers that be don't think Arts students get up till the middle of the morning as nearly all the English, History and Classics modules are at 11am and 12 noon, which creates a problem when thats what your degree is going to be in, and you've worked out what you want to do and what you have to do, and none of it fits with when you can actually do it.
And one small query - why did I put latin down?

While complex, one gets the feeling that University will be a good deal easier (on a day to day living front) than Africa. Your Post article makes it sound rather unpleasent so, overall, good or bad?

Actually it was really good, I just don't write enthusiasm very well (I can only just spell it smiley - smiley !). The only thing was that life there is hard, and there being so much more to write about that it's easier to do - there's only so many ways of writing the people were lovely, the susets were beautiful. But they were.

Well that was rather a worse case scenario article - that was as bad as it got - really highly live-with-able. (with the exception of some freaky person coming and tapping on my window in the middle of the night). Everything else was amazing - especially the weather smiley - smiley

I suppose it is the problem of writing about anything or anyone. They/it can be brilliant, but to make what you are writing interesting, you have to play up the odd/strange/unpleasent bits. I need to read more Bill Bryson, to learn how to do this sort of thing better smiley - smiley

You can read too much Bill Bryson - as shown by my parents when they arrived in Namibia to hike the Fish River Canyon accompanied by half the equipment he took in 'A Walk in the Woods' smiley - smiley
