The Brisbane International Animation Festival

As the h2g2lif cartoon I posted on the 17th of April would suggest, I spent quite a large amount of time at the 3rd Brisbane International Animation Festival (BIAF).
It was a lot of fun but exhausting.
5 days of animated short films (between 30 seconds and 30 minutes) can certainly take its toll on your eyes, and I walked out of the whole thing quite drained but hey... I survived.
I also got to meet the legendary Ray Harryhausen!
For those of you who are saying 'who?', Ray was the bloke who made the 3D animation (which he called 'Dynamation') for all those Saturday matinee films like Jason and the Argonauts, The Seventh Voyage OF Sinbad, One Million Years BC and Mighty Joe Young (the original).
Ray's a nice fella indeed. I got to chat with him for quite a while when a small group of us greeted him to Brisbane. We all had a nice low key bar-b-que in picturesque surroundings and talked about animation and life in general.
Nice to meet the man who kept my Sunday afternoons entertaining.
