As I said it was a mad house. If it wasn't for the fact that they started to play around with Andrew's car, we would not had to stay for dinner. We were glad to get out of there, but then the car died not too far away from there. It's a period in my life that I want to shut the book on.

Have you seen how tough Pizza Hut jelly can get? You could support a whole table with just one bit of it. Ok I am exaggerating there, but if each leg of the table had a bit of jelly under it, then the jelly would hold it up.

The 24 include parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 2 aunts, 1 uncle, 3 cousins, 3 cousins' partners, one second cousin, one nephew, nephew's girlfriend and to be honest I've forgotten the rest except I think I may have included us in the 24 so it's really only 22.

Well that's ok then!

Well it would have been 11 if you included Andrew and I. Still, I dread every time Andrew says, 'I have to go over to the parents'. Since his sister and brother-in-law, and 4 kids live there, and so does his brother. I think Friday night we are going there, ARGH!!!

I have a friend like that - his parents have 4 kids, who all live there, he and his sister also have their kids and OH's there, all together it adds up to 8... it's absolutely crazy...

Well he is lucky he doesn't live there as well.

Looks like we have to share his bed with the cat though. :-\ Got to be careful not to squah the poor thing.

Kitty kitty kitty....You could try "Fenchurch's patented scare all domestic animals away method", which involves sreeching at high pitches and using strange facial ticks at high repitition levels ... but I don't know how Andrew would react . And it may break some windows.

Um, that has already been patented as 'Talking to the dolpins', and yes I think he would look at me very strange, though he worked at Seaworld for a while.

Good news for Doug, one sister on holiday, two cousins and respective families in Cornwall for the eclipse and not sure about other cousin so he could just be meeting 10-15 people rather than 22!

Ah, but there's still quite a few of them, and I guess the few of them the more I'll stand out! *eek* I was kind of hoping to blend into the back of the crowd!

Oh, I'm sure you'll do fine, at least my fingers are crossed for you. I'll tell everyone I know to cross their fingers for Doug.

OK we did it and true to form it was me that should have been worried. My family laid into me all day and Doug is amazed that I have turned out so normal. However, we achieved the aim of the day which is they loved him!

Met his Mum & stepdad today - His mum is great and we'll potter along fine but his stepfather and I will never see eye to eye! Still out of all the people we met, not getting on with one doesn't seem so bad! Only one of my sisters and his brother to go and we'll have completed this mammoth task!

Better ratio than mine, in which out of 13, two hate me- but that's just because they're too closed-minded to witness my biting with and overall charisma (and huge ego) More food advice- Friday I bought the stepdad a Dutch Apple Pie- it works wonders .
