A nice, easy move actually. No trucks, no packing everything tight to make it all fit, no rushing to get it all done in one day. Just have to carry everything up two flights of stairs over the course of about a week. And figure out where to put everything up there. And force myself not to buy the new stuff I need....

I have to admit a bit of envy in regard to your moving within the same building. Except, of course, that I'm pretty happy to be getting away from my slumlord

Why is it that during a time when finances are the most strained - moving, that is - we get these impulses to buy things? I've been thinking "hey, I'm moving, so now would be a GREAT time to buy a new TV and a DVD player..."

Yeah. Because moving vans and trauma therapy are soooo cheap

I should be sleeping in my place the night of the 12th (week from Saturday). Congratualtions to you too. I know you mentioned it before.

It's good to get away. I hated so much moving for a second time in 10 months (which is what happened last time) but it was so good to get out of where I was, where the location and cool things about the old house had just utterly failed to overcome its shortcomings for me, including things like the absentee landlord.

Moving upstairs won't be as easy as you might think (it's out the patio door, walk to the next doorway over, which is the stairwell to the right of mine when you're in front, up two flights of stairs...) but then it's not too much farther than I would have to take it to a truck. And no truck is a way good thing. And once again this grace period, which is so cool. I'll probably never have that again.

I'm just so going to want to buy lots of furniture at Ikea or something.

Buy your stuff, DVD player is very cool and pretty cheap now. Just buy it *after* you move of course.

When i move, at least i'll have a company truck to use. I've yet to find a place to live. We can't find a decent 2 beedrom that we can afford near here. It looks like me may be moveing out of county.
