I don't really seem to fit
CrazyOne Started conversation Apr 5, 2000
It's not on purpose, I'm not trying to be different or odd for that sake alone, but if I'm really me I don't think I fit in with people who might otherwise be friends. And it's okay, really. I mean, it's mostly okay. I don't usually think about it a lot. But every once in a while it takes a fair bit of effort to continue to feel okay.

You may think you don't, but you do. I can't even get through an online chat anymore (the multi-person type I mean) without feeling thoroughly out of place, mostly laughing at what's going on, but unable to contribute anything worthwhile.

*wanders in and bumps blindly into things*
*bumps blindly into Greg and hugs him*
See, the thing is though, that when you're there and you watch what's going on and occasionally say Greg things, it IS fitting in. We're happy you're there. We do notice that you're in the room and we're happy that you're in the room. You feel like you don't fit in, but we love you and tackle you and make sure you're around when we talk, and make sure that you're part of the "we". So we obviously DO think you fit in. There's no prerequsite for "amount of time spent verbally contributing to madness" so you can't possibly be below par.
Just be you. You fit fine. I promise.

Ditto on what she said.
Greg, you are the origional Floorer (Aside from kath), And you are, well, Greg. It was you that made DNA at CMU happen. It was you that made the camera happen. You may not say as much as someome like Justin, but you don't need to. You're Greg.

Yeah, they're right about that. Thrown in a room with, say, Justin and bubster, or alternatively, Krissy and tree, I don't feel like I fit in either. It's all a question of whether you try to be a part of what's going on, or whether you let what's going on include you as a part. The latter is *far* more interesting. For everybody. If you take a room with five people and Greg in it, and another time you take a room with the same five people and no Greg, they will be distinctly different rooms. It's almost a question of atmosphere...
Hey, I didn't know Eddie Izzard was on Who's Line is it Anyway. I think I'll watch this very closely.

Strange little man, has Robert Downey, Jr. eyes. Not bad, funny guy.
