*sends an icy blast from the Southern Hemisphere's depths of winter*
I can't believe I only just found this thread . I kept seeing the subject line in my convo list but I thought it was some do gooder talking about organising cleanup days (yes I am rather behind on my backlog thank-you).
Anyway, you have to be nice about the insects! Didn't you see that traumatising documentary as a child about how the insects are going to take over the world?

But before I do, I just remembered about The Swarm! (early 80s disaster movie). You have to block off all the holes in your house when the swarm comes, like the chimney and remember to shut the bathroom window, otherwise you get stung to death.
So Trin you might want to consider yourself lucky

If ye not ask whateth the Flant is, ye will find the true Flant will embrace you with openeth wings
*Do not read if you want The Flantish embrace*
Flant:
Flying Ant which set upon my town and others in swarms about a year ago. Flants have not been seen since, though are sorely missed.

Human slaves
In an insect nation (Wa hoaaaawoaooooooo!)
Prepare ye the coming of the flants!
I like the idea of a rubbish bee - "Now Julie, you've got thirty seconds to identify this partially decomposed vegetable and spell it"
*Weatherflash for 2legs* It's getting much cooler here and spreading eastwards, leaving a trail of chilly and drowsy rubbish bees in its wake.

Flying ants swarming in your town . That was spooky that I started to talk about The Swarm just then
Rubbish Bees, I was thinking more like a working bee where women sit around making handicrafts from recycling. They could spell as they go though.

Now I've heard of these "Bee" things where people get together to do stuff, but we don't have them in the UK as far as I know. There was a programme about Spelling Bees on the telly, which I missed. Just assumed it was about marvellously intelligent little chaps in black and yellow stripey jumpers leaping from scrabble tile to scrabble tile or moving around an Ouija board.

(That's not much, is it? Oo, I hate losing at scrabble. I'm almost at the making words up and arguing for half an hour stage)

EM and EN are usually lifesavers at the end of the game wehn you have the odd vowel lying around.
Has anyone seen the scrabble dictionary - it drives me nits - it has the words but no definitions so you end up saying something like, "Yes, MUGAWUB is in the dictionary but what is it?!"

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Posted Jun 26, 2005
I've got most of the unusual 2 and 3 letter words memorised
Stuff like Zo, qi and jo
My brother refuses to play because we have all these 'silly' words, but they're in the scrabble dictionary
Rubbish Bees
Trin Tragula Posted Jun 26, 2005
I don't know what any of those mean. Or Mugawub, for that matter.
I'd check, but the dictionary's got a teatowel on it.

A zo (can also be spelt zho) is a Himalyan yak, honest
Until I read that in the Scrabble dictionary I thought all yaks were Himalayan so the game is educational
Jo is Scots for girlfriend
Just ordinary everyday words if you're a Scotsman herding yaks in the Himalayas
Key: Complain about this post
