More news from Oyster, I asked them what you do if you want to get an extension to your existing ticket, to travel outside of your regular zones and they said that, by the end of the year, they will be introducing 'pay-as-you-go' Oyster Cards which can be used in the same way as pay-as-you-go mobile phones. The customer can buy ten or twenty pounds worth of travel, for example, and whenever they travel outside their zones the cost of the single journey will be debited. This product can be placed on the same Oyster Card as the existing monthly or yearly ticket, so there will be no need to have two cards.
