My lucky day?
Peta Started conversation Jun 24, 2003
I was just sitting on the grass outside BBC White City and spotted a four leaf clover, and then another and another...
I now have six four leaf clovers, and one five leaf - it was obviously a bit of a mutant plant!
Do you think I should buy a lottery ticket?
Will something exciting happen?

Peta Posted Jun 24, 2003
Oh it had plenty of others, just not four and five leaf ones! I imagine it'll manage to produce some more, it was quite a big plant.

Hey, Jimi, you're back! Did you have a good holiday? Did you make sandboats?
Me hoping to get lucky? Nah, I'm lucky already, but if I wanted to *pull* there's always the h2g2 party at the weekend!
One day you'll have to come to the party and surprise us all!

That boat was a *huge* hit. And it lasted into high tide far longer than we expected so the kids were all adrift (for a little while).
Brilliant idea Peta! And it makes me want to suggest a collaborative entry on sand sculptures - how to do it and designs to make.
The lovely Mrs X made a really cool sleeping dragon one day and I turned my youngest into a mermaid another day.
And I'm still waiting for my plane ticket from the BBC accounting office - did they lose my requisition again?

Oh no, not again! I tell them every year, but they *always* screw up. Butts will be kicked for this one, I can tell you!
Can you come onto MSM? I've managed to make it work, finally!

Those are really cool SEF.
I think I'll go request that for a Topic of the Week thingie.
And Peta, with the extra summer daylight, I'm out playing with the little ones until dark and when it turns dark here, it's like 3am over there.
I'll check my schedule (lawn mowing, tree planting, hedge trimming and outdoor painting) with my lovely bride and perhaps we can find a time when we're both online.

Hi Peta I'm so excited about the meet. I'm bringing an insane quantity of drinking water with me! I've only two worries:
1) That the big bottle will split on the Tube.
2) That I'll hurt my back with the heavy backpack it's created.
Should be OK. Roll on, Saturday!

Someone uploaded ice sculpture photos to the database too. Unless it was you, I guess you're not the only one in the BBC who likes these sorts of things. I think most of my sand creations had an engineering component - getting tunnels and bridges to work. I have done the odd creature sculpture though. I found out earlier this year that they've finally knocked down the amazing shell etc decorated house in Boscombe, Bournemouth. The son of its creator wanted the real estate money.

See you there Whoami!
I didn't even think of drinking water! I'll get some too, very sensible idea.
It's going to be *good* fun!

Hi SEF,
I don't know who uploaded them, I'll ask around out of interest!
The idea of a collaborative entry sounds good to me, what are you suggesting, things to do on the beach? I'd contribute to that one.
It's a shame about the shell house, I hadn't seen it, but these modern folly type places are great, it's a shame it hadn't had a preservation order slapped on it.

I haven't bought a ticket yet!
But if I did win I'd definitely give some to you. I could buy you a pink palace or something!

Mollie,
Jimi X who posted earlier made sand boats for his little girls on holiday. Can you see the posting? They loved them too!
