I'm off to Cyprus for a couple of weeks. I won't be online at all, so if you have any problems please go ask the relevant site Producer.
In the meantime I'll leave you with some pretty pics of where I am...

Think of me, sitting on a balcony somewhere with my 'handsome impoverished writer' boyfriend and a nice chilled glass of wine. Bliss!

Hi Galaxy Babe,
Well yes, of course its still a secret - unless you're in the know of course!
It's probably a bit of an open secret now though, we're not exactly hiding it. We're getting our first flat together at the end of March, just the two of us. We're really looking forward to it. We've been in a flat share for ages and they're lovely people, but two of them are going off travelling for a year, so now seems like a good time to get a place of our own. It's our three year anniversary at the beginning of March too, doesn't time fly?

Thanks Tango and Pheloxi,
It'll be nice to have a break, even from somewhere as funky as h2g2 and DNA!

Gah! I bet I missed you before you went off... Have a great time you two. Do lots of naughty things, and enjoy yourselves lots and lots.

Left me for the other man I see...
Looking forward to some collaborative Guide entries about the place when you return.

Dunno about Guide Entries - I always advised professional writers to think hard before contributing to h2g2, and I practice what I preach - but I'm certainly planning to add a Cyprus section to my website. Just as soon as I finish writing it, anyway.
Nicosia - fascinating place. Holidays in UN-controlled buffer zones always turn me on.

Very well, thanks pheloxi! I'm keeping myself busy with lots of writing, and have just managed to get some paid work, which is a big relief. If I can exist off a freelance career for a while, I'll be delighted.
How are things with you?

Is it as cold there as it was in Cyprus? We had to dig the car out of the snow with a spade at one point, I thought it was going to be hot and sunny!

Two weeks ago we got 2 feet of snow and we've had a few small 'freshening' storms since them...
We've still got something like 4 inches on the ground.

Hi Jimi
So do you have snow on the ground for most of the winter? Or is this an unusual spate of weather for you too?
Cyprus
Jimi X Posted Mar 6, 2003
This has been an especially harsh winter for us. A typical winter will have a couple of good snowfalls, but then be cool and soggy.
This year has been colder than usual and unusually snowy. Even the kids are getting tired of playing in the snow.
