The cat in the hat is back!

Oh well, all good things have to come to an end. I'm back from holiday. It was great, I'm slightly browner than I was when I went away, and I'm definitely more relaxed. Being back in the office is bound to sort both of those out relatively quickly though!..

WB Peta!
I just got back to reality too, I've had a visitor/houseguest for a week.
Didn't get much work done, or spend much time online.

I just can't believe Peta returned home during Wimbledon.
Isn't it always a zoo around home at this time of year?

Aw, its awful Jimi,
It's really crowded on the train platform, people everywhere stopping in the middle of the pavement because they're lost, can't get into the shops, it's a total pain!
I noticed something a bit interesting and bizarre yesterday though. For some weird reason people going to Wimbledon wear odd clothes. I think it's because they're not sure if it's going to be hot or cold, rainy or sunny, or whether it's a 'casual day off' type of day or a formal 'ought to wear a frock' day.
So they wear sort of formal but casual clothes from the back of their wardrobe (the sort of things that you might say 'I think I'll keep that dress/jacket after all, it'll come in handy when I go to Wimbledon!), made of light cotton, and wear a hat (that doesn't go with the dress/jacket, like a bassball hat, because that's the only one they've got, apart from the wedding hat, which would be too formal with a kind of casual dress/jacket), but with a jumper and a brolly in case it does turn chilly. And wellingtons. Or something like that. As a group they do look very odd indeed!

Sounds like the start of a great Guide entry...
'How to dress for Wimbledon' or perhaps 'How NOT to dress for Wimbledon'

I was going to write one, "Wimbledon Watching" or "Wimbledon Etiquette" - when I've finished my other entries. I have started one on Sir Cliff Richard, will get a mention in that too.

Hi GB!
Apparently Sir Cliff started up a sing-a-long at a Wimbledon a few years back, when rain stopped play. That was a lovely idea, just to stop people from getting bored.

I know.
I was watching it live, waiting for the rain to stop....he had Martina Navratilova and others as backing singers.
