h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The prospectus from Dundee arrived this morning, and it's got me all flustered. I've basically got it down to 4 that I know I want to apply to and some more that will fill up the other 2 slots, but it's scary and grown up and I don't wanna!

The four I'm applying to are, in alphabetical order:
Cambridge
Dundee
Edinburgh
Leeds

A prize if you guess what I wants to study!

Ummmm...... Vegetables?

UCAS forms (are they still called UCAS? Cor, I'm showing my age )

Would it be history? Or something scientific?

I only applied to two universities, but at the time they were the only two doing the subject I wanted to do.

Where did you apply, and where did you go, Rains?

So what are you going to study then?

I applied to University of Hertfordshire and Oxford Brookes University, as at the time they were the only two that did an accredited BEng in Automotive Engineering (which I wanted to do in preference to Mechanical Engineering, even though they're 80% the same - I wanted to play with cars).

Crumbs, that's 10 years ago now . It'll be six years since I left uni (I did a 4-year course) this June . I feel so, so old .

I hit the grand old age of 28 in July . I don't feel like a grown up yet, though .

I'm after studying English, and possibly double majoring in politics.

Rains - you're ancient

English and politics? Bah. Nearly as bad as "Media Studies" . I'd have liked to have done English (I did English Language A Level) but couldn't think what to do with it, besides teaching (and I'm so not good at that!).

You know what the worst bit is? Getting emails which say "Signs you're over 25" and realising that *every* single one is true.

Feel sorry for my husband, though. He gets to be 30 next year .

English and Politics are PROPPAR subjects, not like rubbish media studies. I don't think anybody takes that one seriously 'Sides which, I might be running the country in the not too distant future. Give me 20 years and I'll rename the UK hootoo and make towels a constitutional demand.

To be honest I'd go for Edinburgh over Dundee. Dundee's better for computing subjects Anyway, Edinburgh's much closer to me and doesn't have as many neds/chavs as Dundee

I'm leaning more towards Edinburgh than Dundee, but of course it depends largely on where I get it.
