Getting there
Universal Granny Posted Sep 15, 2003
Hi Tefkat
Why wait until your littlun moves out.......?!!
I know all these TV programmes on houserenovation/decoration/upgrading/trading up/etc.etc. seem to want us to believe that the uncluttered look is the thing, but it doesn't look like HOME does it?
After all, I feel that we can do what we like with our houses as long as they have a slap of paint over everything before we leave, and are neat and tidy for the next occupant. All this codswallop about rooms being "too personalised" is, well, a .....load of codswallop!
OK ranting over, how are you this evening? I'm suffering a surfeit of grandchildren who have been rampaging around the back room "discovering". Especially Dino who "discovered" the echo in the room (that's not because it is big, it's because there are no soft furnishings as yet, just all hard walls and floors and wooden furniture). He spent the whole afternoon with a recorder in one hand and tambourine in the other alternately blowing, shaking and shouting for all he was worth. At least he'll sleep tonight!
Anyway, work on the horizon, so must go

Hi daraline
Your comment about "lots to discover" has put the thought into my head of exactly what my street artist friend has in mind!!
Will have to consult before he starts I think, but I am sure he got the message about "child-friendly".
Will let you know how it goes

Well he's got the only room with a decent amount of wall space.
Though you have a point - why wait till he moves out? I could make him sleep in the porch with the dog...
(Poor kid already has most of the bookcases and my wardrobe in his room.)
*Wonders what the streeet artist might come up with if given his head (so to speak)*

'Night Smurfles, sleep tight.
Hi Tefkat,
I gave him a ring to see exactly when he would be coming and to check the ideas he's got - he's promised to make them child-friendly but "not necessarily granny-friendly". Hmmm! I presume big, bad wolf, but I'm not sure, and he won't tell me!

Hi just dropping in quickly. That's funny about Dino and the tamborine in the echoy room - sounds just like something me or my brother would have done as kids.
