Adele the Divided (h2g2 will be your undoing)

There was great wailing and mourning, when we saw Michael (Cheatmeister)Schumacher win the American Grand Prix this morning.
We feel for Juan Pablo Montoya, but congratulate Kimi Raikonnen, who is (I must say) a sweet looking boy.
JPM needs a miracle, but one never knows, miracles can happen.
We have global warming, no, really, that's why we have had a 24 hour storm, with winds of 100 kph, and torrential rain and flooding. *This* is spring?
smiley - musicalnote Robert Palmer rang down the curtain and joined the choir invisible, on Saturday. That was a shock! I didn't particularly like his videos, but he did have a great voice. smiley - musicalnote

Since yesterday, I have been informed that JPM doesn't have a snowball's, which is very smiley - wah, and I have been reminded of Villeneuve, dashing from his car as the engine caught fire, and he legged it. Jimmy says this was funny...smiley - zen

Jimmy Nugget (I am extremely happy for everybody, especially miss Fiona.)

It's a great pity about Montoya...smiley - sadface

But it did look funny when Villeneuve jumped out of his car and ran away.

Oh well... There's still a chance for Williams in the constructor's championship, which I have money riding on.

Do you seriously have money riding on the constructors' championship???

Yeah, with only one race left in the season, JPM no longer has a mathematical chance of winning the drivers' championship. smiley - cry

But Kimi Raikkonen has a chance, albeit a slim one.

It's a great pity that the cheatmeister is dominating once again and it's going to erode Formula one's fan base as people become more and more disillusioned. I don't know if you noticed but he got his customary incident of cheating in at the US grand prix. He overtook under waved yellow flags - something that any other driver would've been penalised for, but M Shumacher gets away with many things because he's considered such a valuable drawcard. In fact, all it does is p*** people off.

In the end the US grand prix all came down to the weather and tyres.

It was hilarious to see Villeneuve's car blow up. smiley - laugh But sad to see much the same thing happen to his team mate Jenson Button. Jenson is a promising young guy and deserves to do well. He was even leading the US grand Prix for quite a few laps before he broke down.

I hope that Williams can win the constructors'.

Have you heard the goss? JP Montoya is going to join McLaren in 2005 (he might jump earlier and join 'em in 2004). Williams will probably replace him with Mark Webber from Jaguar and that leaves Coulthard to go to Jaguar. Musical chairs in F1.

It's all about salary.

It would be naive, I suppose, to think it was all about glory... sigh. Jensen Button *did* do well initially, and it's sad that he didn't do better. When interviewed, Schumacher waffled on at length about tyres and rain - what I can't understand is why everyone *idolises* him so much!
I am constrained to note that I saw a left hand drive Ford Focus car with what were *definitely* European plates, Spanish ones probably, *right outside* here today. They had the European Union symbol, and an 'E' which must be for Spain. smiley - envy

It amazes me that someone would personally import a car all the way from Spain. You've got the cost of freight, duty, and a whole lot of other things and then you're left with a left hand drive car that's difficult to use in New Zealand and almost impossible to sell. I think that sometimes people think that NZ is a rural backwater and you can't buy cars there 'so better take your own'. LOL

Yes, M Schumacher's fan-following really is inexplicable. His catalogue of cheating is extensive and showing every sign of continuing. Sigh.

The latest news is that BAR have dumped Villeneuve. It's no surprise and JV must've known it was coming. Villeneuve has achieved very little in the entire five years of BAR's existence. Despite his absolutely enormous salary, based on him being a former world champion (he won the title in 1997 for Williams). He's been hugely out-pointed by Jenson Button.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/3164516.stm

Nigel Mansel said in a magazine atricle early in the year "I don't know how much money British American Tobacco have spent on BAR so far, but I think the technical term is 'an arm and a leg'".

A significant portion of that was JV's salary (about $20m a year). Now they can spend that on engineering in some reliability instead.

Yes, some reliability *might* be a great idea. LOL!!!
I used Jensen Button's name in a story, cos it's cute.
I knew an Austrian once, who imported a big people mover van to NZ from there. More $$$ than sense, obviously. It was summat like a Toyota Hilux, I think.smiley - laugh
