She was born during the late afternoon and I'm still a little numb.

Not very, you feel it of course. Dragonqueen, who is resting at my scapula, was more painful.
...and I was entertained by the artist, a guy from Berlin, and it distracted me a lot. It was actually worse when he took breaks to clean the needles, the pain was worse then.

It's all red around the tatto today. However, it's not unusal with an inflammatory reaction afterwards so I'm not worried.
Since it's rather uncomfortable to have any fabric directly to the skin the first days I'm wearing a sleeveless top indoors today. Most comments have been positive, but some of my colleagues (mostly male and middle aged/elder) have muttered. Tattooed senior doctors with bare arms is obviously not part of everyone's ideas of how (other) senior doctors shall behave

I think that tattooed senior doctors- some of whom look quite attractive with or without sleeves- are lots more interesting and nice to be around than uppity old fogies who mutter about what other people should or shouldn't wear or how they choose to enhance their beauty.

i ever met was our shipwright. when he sawed off the remains of my leg i couldn't care less that he was 100 percent tattooed
