The Stray we found last summer is still with us despite having been claimed. His home is a few doors away but he choses to live with us. This is despite my two tomcats fighting with him, my husband shooing him away and all of us grabbing the foodbowl away to discourage him. His owner was apparently distraught at his dissapearance but hadn't taken steps to find him. We put up "found" posters, phoned vets and cat charities, fed him, treated him for earmited, fleas and worms. had him vaccinated and castrated (all should have been done before he got to young adulthood). After 2 months the owner phoned to ask why we'd put a collar on her cat! She was very grateful for our care, and we were grateful not to have another cat. We promised to shoo him away and not feed him but he still comes back daily. I feel so sorry for him as he sits watching my cats eat
The good news is that we found another stray in our garden last week and re-united her with her owner 2 days later. This owner really was grateful. The cat had been missing for two months, was old and quite infirm but was so pleased to see it's owner again

I had a cat that was well taken care of but liked to roll in anything grundgy. I began to think he did it on purpose just to look like a homeless cat and get extra loving because it worked. He sat up high in the "other" ladies tree and he could see our back door. He got quite heavy I am a stickler about pet weight and health issues so I knew it was not me. Finally I went and talked to the lady - what an actor that cat was.
I miss him RIP
That is so nice you found the one kittys person!
When pets get old they can get lost so easily taking the same path they used too due to loss of senses and strokes et just like us folks.

I hadn't had a cat in a very long time, since my Smoky died back in 1988. I've got one now, though, living with us, and it's nice having a furry friend to pet and scratch and cuddle.
I'm glad you found the kitty's home, Meg. It was nice of you to take care of the kitty though- you such a compassionate soul.
Abbi, sorry that your kitty is no longer with you. He sounds like he was a wonderful little guy. And a real ham!

Sorry to hear about your sadly missed cats. They're such wonderful creatures.I admire so many of the characteristics of our feline friends. If re-incarnated I hope to be one some day. Can't wait for all that lounging around in sunny places
