A new counselor!

I have a new counselor. N has some hopes. At least I didn’t reject her after the first visit . She is willing to use the non-traditional use of PTS and didn’t recommend any self help books. She does want me to do some relaxation exercises. Thinks I need to know how to relax. Who ME!
She only made one off-beat comment. “Kids are resilient. She’ll get over it.” I thought about that one over night and called her office the next morning. The comment I left her, “That sounds more like the comment an abuser who make than one I would expect coming from a therapist.” She called me back and we discussed the matter. She ‘claimed’ I misunderstood what she was getting at and that she meant Angel would get over this whole incident when Shawn and I reconciled. For the life of me, I can not figure out what I told her why she thinks reconciliation is possible. It’s a hope that I can not currently let myself hold, yet.
I have now been on Zoloft for almost 2 weeks. If the side effects don’t lessen, I am going to have to stop. They are just as bad as the depression.
And the medical testing goes on. I reran blood work 10 days ago and still don’t have any results. Tomorrow I go to the pain clinic. And today I’m going in for an MRI…I plan on being tranquillized to the hilt. I am extremely claustrophobia and even thinking about it makes me start hyperventilating.
Updates as they become available.

Richenda had her MRI. She requested and took tranquilizers to allow her to be able to get through it.
Afterward, I poured her into bed. I'm sure she will be typing at us all as soon as her fingers stop behaving like overcooked spaghetti.
Meanwhile, I have a host of pictures of the inside of my wife's head. I have to say that every last little lobe of her brain is just as adorable as can be. So, I think I'll have them framed or something.

MRIs are *NOT* fun... I wish I could say I've gotten used to them, but I am sure I won't, ever. Richenda's very brave to have gotten through it, even with the tranqs.
I'm still up, BTW, and looking forward to hearing from you guys really soon.

If you end up having to stop the Zoloft because of the side effects, you might ask your doctor about Celexa/Lexapro. Often insurance companies won't pay for those unless you've tried another SSRI (like prozac or zoloft) and had to quit because of side effects, because they're more expensive, but they are supposed to have fewer side effects. I'll keep hoping that the Zoloft starts playing nice with your body, though.
I'm glad you found a new counselor that sounds decent!

I love the way your hypothalamus matches your eyes.
Your U.S. meds sound more like characters from science-fiction to me what's the deal with that?

Fingers are still like spaghetti and mind is like spaghetti sauce.
Keep in mind, in the past for anxiety I took Ativan .5mg and it took me 4 hours to be able to get up from the chair. This time I took 3mg.
Test certainly didn't seem to last 80 minutes. Helped having Barton rubbing my ankle/leg. it was bothering more than claustophobia.
I am still a zombie studing to be a space cadet. How the heck did I manage to drive to work this morning? I can bearly focus or sit straight now. Wonder if it has anything to do with taking last nights Zoloft this morning?
My side effects from Zoloft include uncontrolled trembling, having to take a minimum of two naps a day (a little hard when you work- but co workers are tired of hearing me snore at the keyboard), increased dizziness (especially when changing position...I lift, carry and put down boxes every day). It was suggested to me to take off from work when on Zoloft...as though THAT'S a possibility.
Well it's been about 2 weeks now. I have an appointment with a shrink on July 9. Will give it until than and then we'll see where we go.
Back to pretending I'm functional at work.

Went to the pain clinic today.
Doctor switched all my meds. Now on Vioxx and Lexapro. He has me scheduled for 2 pain blocks. July 10 and July 17.
Told him I didn't want to spend the rest of my life on meds.
We shall see
