Also agreeing with the good Doctor - you're much better off without a partner who doesn't appreciate you. His loss, not yours. But this doesn't make you *alone* because you are surrounded by friends who love you.

Actually, there is probably something 'wrong' with everybody, depending on whose opinion you listen to. But the important thing is to not take rejections personally to the point that you start down the slippery slope of *blaming yourself for everything*. It takes two to tango, after all.
All relationships take a lot of work. And most don't end up working 'forever', even friendships. When they don't work it behoves one to see the various reasons why and, if one can see where they maybe went wrong, learn from the lesson and make some changes for next time.
Unfortunately, people who are dumped are left to deal with it. Those that do the dumping feel more in control of the situation, even though they may have equally contributed to the relationship not working. They just took the initiative to leave first.
Well, as I say, live and learn. You'll be fine, Kittens. And you are certainly young enough to look forward to many more love experiences and each time you will grow a little more.
