Right - according to tradition :
"This is a true story"
I used to be a Sea Scout, and during winter, when it was too cold to go on the river, we'd go up to Braydeston hill, which wasn't much of a hill to be honest, to play outdoor games.
One was 40 - 40 in the dark, where you have to approach the 'base' (a telephone line pole next to a fence) without getting seen by the people with torches.
See map of area at: http://img124.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img124&image=map1.png
After failing and returning to the start several times, I decided to go round the other side of the fence on the north side. However, when I got to the fence on the west hand side of the church there was a person with a torch snooping around, so... I went into the graveyard.
I slowly crawled (commando style) past the graves (not over them you'll be glad to hear), and got to the hedge on the southern side, right next to the post. But then the people with torches were still standing there. So I waited.
Everyone else finished the game, and one of them said "Where's Alex?". I thought "Okay - here's my chance to jump out and shout "Here I am - didn't you see me?"
But all I got out was "Heowwwww.... umph."

This was due to the barbed wire that was perfectly camouflaged in the dark, and had left a two inch long gash in my knee after destroying my trouser leg.
As soon as everyone was aware of where I was, they were shining more torches in my eyes than a paramedic could dream of.
And that is how I got my scar.
THE END

Sorry, I read it, and THOUGHT a comment, does that work?
Where were you a Sea Scout? In Oz, or elsewhere? (I presume they exist elsewhere...)
That's the kind of accident that sometimes happens in scouting..

Er... no, the only person who can hear you think is yourself.
In England - the only place crazy enough to put barbed wire in such strange locations...
