Sorry heres another idea, trifle.....no prob, sugar free jelly, lots of fresh fruit (berries are best), custard on top made from skimmed milk and sweetner, and just before serving a squirt of lower fat cream (you know the type sold in cans) Now this cream is not exactly low but as long as you dont have mounds of it you should be ok. I also have sugar free jelly, put into small individual dishes allow to set, top with muller lite starberry yogurt, thena squirt of the cream yum yum...lush xxx

hi diane, and thanks smiley - love.the info will take some digesting(wrong choice of words eh!!!!)but i'll read it over again, maybe it will sink in then.i undderstand what your saying..and we do read all the lables ,it's a toil sometimes,..but my hubby sticks to "if its under 10 grams of fat"then its safe to eat.he takes medication to lower his cholesterol on a daily basis..but still has to keep his fat lower than ten.he doesnt worry about calories...but as i said he has put some weight on.i worry because it is extra weight for him to carry round, but he isnt realy big...he's around 131/2 stone.it is sooo confusing when we have to read the fat content, then look for something else as well,,but i will make sue tht i have a good look next time.40lb.sunds brilliant....well done diane!!!!!!chat to you soon, and thanks for all your help.smiley - lovensmiley - hugs salxxx

Sal if you find it hard i will try to re word it, i am not surprised it will take some working out, but please say and dont just give up the attempt because this method really does work out.
Like i said 1gram of fat contains 9 cals, so if hubby sticks to under 10grams that could still be quite high fat unless the product contains no more than say 350 cals. For example if it were a tin of soup and the tin contained 250 cals and the fat was 10grams that would mean 90 cals of the 250 are cpoming from fat which would be 36% fat which is high. Now by this method he would be looking at the soup containing less than 7 1/2 grams of fat. If you go to asda take a look at their labelling as at the bottom of the food nutritional label it will tell you what percentage of cals are derived from fat, you need to look for 27% or less, so if you shop at asda, you have a flying start because at least the info is there if you look for it.Also porridge wheatgerm walnuts (in moderation) dark green leafy veg garlic and oily fish are excellent for people with high ch.,
I am sure given the chance you will get it. When reading it again write it down at the same time have some food labels in front of you i am sure this may help it to click. smiley - love Diane xxx

Sal, i hope you didnt think i was suggesting that you were thick, in fact quite the opposite, when i have a client in front of me it is easy because i have them there and we go through it together, that was the first proper time i have ever typed it out. Gosh it would have beena help had i have been able to do a chart thingy smiley - doh. Here got an idea cos it may help others too that read on this thread.....
50 cals 1.5grams fat, 100 cals 3 grams fat, 200 cals 6 grams fat, 300 cals 9grams of fat, 400 cals 12grams fat, 150 cals 4.5 grams fat and so on and so forth, dont go over the amount of fat stated and it is the top line of the fat you are looking at not the broken down bit.....god why didnt i do it like that first time arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! smiley - sorry Sal am i forgiven????? smiley - love ya loads really i do Diane xxxxxxx dont know about your mind being a bit grey mine has no colour at all, just black white and grey he he he he smiley - winkeye
