well, i've managed 2 weeks without going sickand work seems to be going well. i've learnt the important things, like where the pub
is, the local shops and cashpoint locations etc, oh, and how to do my job
.
on wimpey i have a training course on the computer system they are going to install as part of ctmp(courts and tribunals modernisation programme), in january there's a 5 day residential course at thorpe park hotel and spaon management skills. and there's a 2 day course in november on managing performance in your team. i foretell a case of writers and notetakers cramp coming on...
the animals are all ok. pigletand kanga
get on really well now. piglet does have a tendancy to use kanga as a pillow though. aero is happy, he was fed a few days ago, and the heat is agreeing with him. quaffle and bludger are their usual hamster selves. did anyone see that entry on hamsters the other day? it was pretty good. oh, and darren
is happpy. today is his last day of work for 3 weeks. i've got another week to go and then i'm off for 2 weeks. it's his birthday on 2nd sept, and we go off on holiday on the 5th to cornwall. hurrah
!

Hi daraline!
Thought I'd pop into this conversation as you mention a couple of really interesting (to me) topics there!
Firstly - Thorpe Park, that's not the one in Chertsey is it? Or is that just a theme park. I think they have hotel and conference facilities, but I'm not sure.
Next - Cornwall !! My favourite place! Whereabouts are you going? I have spent the last 7 years going to Cornwall four times a year to a friend's bungalow and there is still so much more to see - unfortunately she has sold the bungalow, so those places will have to remain unexplored for me. Do let me know where you're going so that I can dream....
Glad the job is going OK - you certainly seem to have sussed all the important places!
Take care Universal Granny

hello
yes, thorpe park hotel and spa is the one in leeds, but the theme park bit is closed in january. darn it, i'll have to work
. wonder if the bar is paid for by work
...
Cornwall, we are staying in a b&b in the middle of bodmin moor. maybe we'll get to see the beast! we are hiring a car so we can go to tintagel, goonhilly, bodmin, cider farms
, eden project, helligan, seal and otter sanctuary, cider farms(again), all over really.
blicky, you should never eat from a stall at a festival. it's asking for trouble. still, plenty of water and cranberry juice will clear your system through. glad you enjoyed yourself though
.

Thanks for the tip Caroline, but its the bow wows who have got the dicky tummies. I think my sister and the nieces to pieces gave them too many dog biscuits while I was away.
If you get the chance while you're in Cornwall checkout Cynance Cove near Lizard its a national trust beach with some beautiful cliff walks and rock formations.
Hope you have a time anyway.

i know what you mean about pet sitters spoiling them. we left our rats in the care of next door last year. we went away for about 5 days. the rats got through an entire bag of
drops! needless, they weren't impressed when we got back, as they waddled towards us
!
i'll look out for those cliffs. well, i am a rock chick.

I caught my boyfriend eating the rat's drops! He said that he wouldn't eat any more, but the bag is still emptying pretty quickly!
Urgh!
