Secretly Not Here Any More Started conversation Oct 19, 2003
Well, we lost to the scummers yesterday and I had to be half carried out of the Kop by my brother because my leg is yet again truly knackered. So I'd just like to take this opportunity to say, Roy Keane, you are a ing bogtrotter Manyoo ing son of a and I hope you ing burn in hell!
Anyone that knows me and Kat and has seen us at 3am at a party knows that the one conversation we always end up going back to is the state of British music. And how it teases and fools us. Let's start, Oasis. Greatest band since yadda yadda yadda, then they bring out "Be Here Now" and the piece of trite I only refer to as "the blue album" (so called because it is blue!). With them gone the great hope fell to the Stereophonics. Oh Kelly Jones with two great albums under his belt did blip with J.E.E.P, but it was a minor blip eh? Oh wait, the new one. I bought it, listened to it and hid it. I might listen to it after the gig, but I doubt it.
So who was left? Starsailor? While they are the greatest (only) current depressive indie band, the fact that the depressive indie market consists of me and Kat means they won't make it big. Coldplay? Yes! Big band? Yes! Sellouts? HELL YES! Ever heard Clocks? It's a cash in ing dance track!
Then there's Radiohead. Good music but they've peaked and are on the decline. So all hope is gone.
At five to one yesterday morning, Travis were on Channel 4 playing tracks from their new album, and I'd like to say that finally I've found the hope for music, the replacements for Mono-Brow and his Lairy brother may be four quiet lads from Glasgow, and y'know what?
It's not all bad!
NB: Should Roy Keane, or any scummer ever read this, you.

Well I don't particularly like Portsmouth and I'm more of a league than a union fan. It's ok, we'll get revenge a week Wednesday.

PLAY UP POMPEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't like british music it's SO depressing especially Travis
if you want proper moody music stick to the Blues, the brits are good at that, Eric Clapton, Peter Greene, Gary Moore (ok I know he's Irish) John Mayall, Alexis Korner, Stan Webb, etc

i was going to post to you Reefy congratulating the pompey on their fantastic display yesterday. i do enjoy watching them scousers lose as well as the elland road patriots shed a tear
shame ARSEn*l got gifted a winner really, kind of put a downer on the day but hey, it's only one point between us.
for proper music i would suggest following foofighters and queens of the stone age for your more harder enlightenment. Live are a good band too

I just don't like having to listen to American music. There's a few bands I like, QotSA included, but I'd rather have good English bands.

in that case you're best off listening to your good old local bands. there are a few round my way that i am completely baffled by why they aren't signed.
you'd be surprised how good they are. the more mature band especially.

I follow my mate's metal band around for moral support. They are awful though... Best unsigned musician I've seen for a while was a busker in St Anne's square a few weeks back.
