Lucky dog!

I've gotten 3 editors picks (One today in fact, though JD is credited 'cos he supplied a quote) and seven entries in. I don't like that ratio, 3/7. 2/2 is much better

So is this based on how many we've had in teh edited guide and have made the top story on the front page?

Right then I'm 1/7 with another Pending and I've edited 29 entries and only a hand full of them have made the front page #1

The next three pending will probably bring me down to a 40% hit rate - and even so the total is only five entries. I wasn't trying to start a p***ing contest - smiley - hug I think both of you write great entries.

But if one were to aim for editor's picks, what tactics do you think would boost your chances? I certainly angled for it with my first entry by hinting in the PR thread that I wanted a blob for clarity of the subject being described. With the second I just got lucky.

Entries that get blobs I think are the ones that get considered strongly for the pick

Hiya Pimms.

Just on the Grand Canyon? I got another on the front page. Also mostly mine, I credited ZSF though. Em here subbed it smiley - smiley

The entry has to be blobbable. Entries on animated or a cartooned medium, IE the Simpsons or a cartoon strip can't be blobbed because of copyright issues. That's pretty much all I know besides the obvious stuff smiley - smiley

No contest, I'm just being smiley - silly

I remember when anhaga got three in a row. Apparently the fourth day had Baldur's gate, which was developed in his hometown. So we agree that this counts for a fourth smiley - smiley

I believe it went Canada, Giorando Bruno Crater and then Edmonton. Two of those got editors picks. This entries are great, but most of the time you can't illustrate the topics, 'cos no one has ever heard of it but him smiley - laugh

Actually I was talking about a more recent trio - Cluny Earthlodge Village (weekend), Chaucer (Monday) and Oral Formulaic theory & the Hero on the Beach, Tuesday 3rd of June 2003.

The next entries I'll be working on will probably be mathematical again - John Nash (with Cyzaki), Game Theory and the Prisoner's Dilemma.

What entries have you got up your sleeves?

The constellation or the myth? All I know is about the constellation - it's shaped like a W and one end points toward Polaris.smiley - biggrin

I look forward to being told more smiley - bigeyes (even I could make a blob of five dots in a W shape - so there's a chance of Editor's pick smiley - winkeye)

I'm still working on that... but it might not be done for a while. It's an issue of history repeating itself. Don't ask...

Baseball is a yawn? Tell me about it!! Imagine if you're up to your smiley - bleep in the history of it!!
