Thallabawn.

The ocean silence -
Here so strong it drowns the sound
Of the crashing waves.

I wish I could Haiku, but I never got the hang of the syllabub thingy.
Like them though.
Thanks,

Dear Math.

Thanks for your kind words.

The format, in "western" haiku is 5:7:5. In traditional Japanese haiku
one of the three stands as a separate phrase, the other two can run over. In Japanese tradition there is usually a seasonal reference, but western haaiku has shed the Shinto-nature-connection.

(All of this apparent knowledge was acquired recently by me from H2G2!!! I just put haiku into the hootoo search engine.)

I find the form good for short thoughts that don't necessarily bear longer examination.

There, I just summed up almost 10,000 postings. How'd I do? smiley - winkeye

Spot on, Az. Why don't you post that on the God thread and then tell the lot of them, the obnoxious Toxx in particular, to go get a life. It has become so drearily repetitive and basically rather nasty, I rarely even bother visiting anymore.

I'll be in touch more later today,

Cheers,

Ciao,

Hi both,

I understand the rules, but can never decide what really counts as a syllabub. I'm too old to get that confuzzled.

I'm sorry you're both disappointed enough to stand back from the God thread. I, however, will not abandon it to the children, the rationalists and the monotheists. I've invested just too much time into its growth.

Anyway these boys are just amateurs compared to the initial titanic battles between Hoovooloo, JtP, Insight, Noggin, Alji and I. Blood on the keyboard everyday, with me having to go around patching up crushed egos and repairing fences all the time. Oh, those were the days......

Blessings,
Matholwch /|\.

hi Math! (waves to Chai and blows a kiss)

Noggin was reminiscing to me once about 'the good ole days' on the God thread, about how he started there around posting 125. So I checked it out starting then and - wow! - it really was something back then. Very challenging and interesting. Spent quite some pleasant time reading all those old postings for a few pages.

Believe me, it wasn't the challenge of a possibly angry posting here and there to deal with that finally made me leave. It was you-know-who. W*nker. He just took all the fun out of it for me.

Not 'syllabub' divvy dearest! smiley - biggrin Anyhow, I think you know very well about what counts as a syllabub with your fondness for red wine and other alcoholic beveradges. So I suggest a few strong syllabubs to aid you in getting the syllables right. Well, as long as you don't get to the point where you can no longer count on your fingers (or even find them!) smiley - biggrin
