smiley - bubbly Sounds like a good evening to me.

I wouldn't have thought of panckes for breafast either, but there wasn't anything else in the house that morning and we were hungry. Having done it once it then became traditional to make sure there was enough batter left for breakfast.

Toad in the hole - now I know what I want for tea on Saturday. smiley - cheers

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

It came out relaly well the toad in the hole smiley - drool I could hav ecooked it a bit longer, but I like the batter when its still a bit smiley - erm 'gooy' smiley - erm thats not a good describption, in the middle smiley - drool I've still some milk left, adn I've still half the sausages left, so I could* do it agian tonight, but I might do something with spuds and sausages instead smiley - droolsmiley - erm suppose I could just drink the half pint of milk, or make batter for pancakes smiley - drool

smiley - biggrin I like the slightly soggy bits round the edges of the sausages.

Why would you want to drink the milk when you could bake with it?

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

What could I bake with it though? smiley - erm I'm not relaly big on experiance when It comes to baking, asides making pasta and pizza bases and bread (years ago), and cheese straws (years ago), and a cake (yonk and yoonks ago) smiley - erm so, what should I bake with it? (I don't think I've hardly any self raising flour left at th emoment just plain flour I think) smiley - erm

smiley - erm Well you could make some oat bread.

1 cup of milk
2 beaten eggs
2 cups of flour (plain)
1 cup of oats
2 tablespoonds of golden syrup
1 teaspoon of baking poweder
1/2 teaspoon of bicarb of soda.
1/2 teaspoon of oil

Mix it all together, need it into a loaf and then bake. smiley - erm Now the problem arrises - I leave it in the bread machine and the timing and temp are all done for me.

Cook in the oven at a bread like temp until it's smiley - erm cooked.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

YOu could make custard slices, or you could make some biscuits and use a splash of the milk in them.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

I've some loverly butter and a tub with a little olive oil spread in it smiley - erm I just thought I could* use the milk to make a cheese sauce and do it with some pasta or something smiley - erm I've sausages that I'll probably ahve tonight and i was gona do them with my oven done olive oil skin on potato chip/wedges things possibly with garlic and spices on the spuds smiley - erm so I guess I wouldn't be needing a cheese sauce, less I did the sausages with pasta instead or used bacon or something or made something other than cheese sauce with the milk smiley - biggrinsmiley - doh

Porrage! smiley - drool I can make porrage with it smiley - biggrinsmiley - erm cause I don't use milk in tea or coffee and don't make cakes and such like I hardly ever have milk in, so when I do porrage (which is very very rare), I do Grule (only using water) smiley - biggrin but I can make some tomorrow morn with milk smiley - droolsmiley - erm now, if only I can remember the ratio of oats to liquid.... I think its one part oats to either two or three parts liquid, smiley - erm oh heck I can just bung it all in together who bothered measuring stuff anyhow smiley - biggrin

? syrup? smiley - erm oh maybe not smiley - doh

So many things to have with porridge.. I prefer dark muscavado sugar and butter smiley - drool. Otherwise, you could put in honey, golden syrup, cinemon works well too

Ooo I remember that sort of sugar; we used to get tons of it when I was a kid (when Dad worked for British Sugar smiley - whistle ) smiley - biggrinsmiley - erm I don't think I have any of those things in my house; I relaly don't have a very sweet tooth anymore and I've purposefully tried to keep away from sweet things in order to reduce my calory intake smiley - bigeyessmiley - biggrinsmiley - rofl I only have sugar cubes in as I needed them for some cocktails I made a few years back smiley - rofl

I always have at least six type of sugar in my cupboards smiley - laugh. I like muscavado because of its almost liquorice flavour smiley - drool, doesn't taste as sweet somehow. I don't worry about my calorie intake, my tendancy to think mountains are best viewed from the top sorts that one out quite conveniently smiley - biggrin

smiley - bigeyessmiley - biggrin I like savory stuff too much to be able to give it up, so the sweet stuff I keep clear of, and I don't relaly miss it now at all smiley - erm I ocationally buy a cake from teh bakery less than one a month probably less than one every two months, and maybe once or twice a year I get craving for choc and just buy a giant bar of expensive proper choc and scoff the lot till I feel physically sick smiley - drool only way to do it I think smiley - drool

I tend to have at least 6 types of suger in my cupboards smiley - laugh. My sweet tooth only goes so far though, icing is far too sweet for me smiley - yuk. I love a really strong ginger bread or a tea loaf though smiley - drool. Brownies are good walking food, I only tend to eat chocolate to get me up a hill smiley - laugh
