So far, I can do any of the listed "useful things" myself, including reaching high things (I'm 5'8").
So, guess it's not too major a tragedy that I live alone!

Practical purposes:
Maintenance of vehicles (not so in my case, however... completely hopeless, just like my dad... except he THINKS he knows what he is doing, which is even worse)
Moving heavy objects (this is so in my case... I have this defect that I do not believe that anything is too heavy until after I have moved it, or atleast tried very hard to move)
Building (but only when the bloody accountants let us... 
[I had this argument with an accountant friend of mine. Basically guys build bridges/cars/rockets/etc to impress girls, accountants stop us from doing it, cos they are jealous...])
Pure comic value (watching us make complete fools of ourselves trying to impress you all)
I am sure there are others, but be buggered if I can think of 'em (I think I may have let my side down...)

Just a quick reply to Natia in particular...I can do most of those things myself...and those which I can't I have brothers and a Dad for...

Are these going to be standard issue, or fur-lined? Personally, I vote for lined. Real cuffs hurt! 
And do I have to get a tux, or will a pantsuit do? I'm NOT wearing a dress!!!
