Spirituality and Twenty Two things to remember

“Spirituality is not Meditation, nor prayer, nor acknowledgement or belief in the divine presence. It is the flow of something greater than ourselves in everything we do, everything we say, and everything we are. To those who accept Christ and believe in him he gives the power to become children of God” –Micah Tuhy
Twenty-Two things to Remember by Micah Tuhy
1. Knowledge gives me the ability to do the things that have to be done, when they have to be done, as they have to be done, whether I like it or not.
2. Discipline yourself, so others don’t have to
3. Don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t steal (unless you or your children are starving).
4. Patience is a Virtue.
5. The power to be strong, and the wisdom to be wise, all these things will come to you in time.
6. Wisdom is knowing not to make the same mistake twice.
7. “You can’t be careful on a skateboard man” Stephen King
-When doing things that are daring or dangerous, caution out of fear hinders concentration, a person in the clutch must take action instinctively. Some things we do require less thinking and more faith in ourselves.
8. “Your focus determines your reality” Qui-Gon Jin
-People feel how they choose, believe what they choose, and are as happy as they allow themselves to be.
9. Internal Persistance is a blessing
10. Knowledge is Power, and anything that hinders it is weakness or vice.
11. Resentment is like taking poison, and waiting for someone else to die.
12. Whom do you see? Someone in need? Take action rather than waiting for divine interference.
13. God is great, God is good. What defines us as Christians is the way that we thank him for our food.
14. Christians are empowered by their faith, so “Be Strong and Courageous” for good will overcome, trust in that, if that alone.
15. “Be Strong and Courageous", remembering that discretion is the better part of valor.
16. Believe in yourself in order to believe in anything else.
17. Take what you can get, and ask for nothing more. Give what you can give, regardless of whether or not you were asked. Receive what is offered to you for the sake of him who offered himself for us.
18. Blood is thicker than water.
19. “Be mindful of the future” –Yoda “But not at the expense of the moment, keep your concentration on the here and now where it belongs” –Qui-Gon Jin.
20. The Lord requires us to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with God. This means to live righteously and in the humble knowledge that Grace cannot be earned, accepted of our own power and discernment.
21. Pray to God for discernment and wisdom. For with them we may find serenity. “God, grant me the courage to accept the things I cannot change. Lord, grant me the strength, discipline, and courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”
22. God is not a Hypocrite. One cannot morally turn from Christ because of success or great suffering. Christ paid for our salvation with his own blood, so that no one on the last day can say: “What do you know of success or glory?” or “What do you know of hate, pain, torment, grief, and suffering”. Look at the cross. See our Lord Crucified. He knows man, he knows! All terrible things Christ has suffered, and all glory is his. Why do we condemn him because of our own experiences? We are not above Christ, and Christ, who is above us, came to be a servant, and took all our sins upon his head and placed himself below the lowest of any of us. God is not a Hypocrite.
