I've seen it before, years ago, but I was reminded of it by Jessica last night, and by coincidence happened upon a page with it on today- I wasn't actively looking for it. Thought I'd post it as it is quite interesting.

I think thats wonderful was able to read it straight through with very little hiccups.
So hows job hunting going?

Not wonderfully. Firing off the odd application when I find a job which seems worth applying for. Nothing's really come up yet... you?

The same I've been told by my dad to try ringing job agencies today and see where that gets me unsure what to say though.... give me a job? .... thats not going to work right but I guess its a start.

Good luck Although a word of warning... Don't rely too much on agencies- I've only had one job through an agency, and I won't really resort to them again unless things get really desperate: I applied for and got a job through an agency. It was advertised as an 8- week post, but after 2 1/2 days (yes: DAYS) I'd finished what they'd employed me to do, and I was given a bit of a "Thanks, well done, bye then."
Not that I'm trying to put you off, lol, just don't expect too much from them. They can be pretty devious sometimes- I know someone who was batted around from job to job, and he kept being moved every time I felt like he was settling in. He found out later, by accident, that a number of the places he'd worked for had contacted the agency about offering him a permanent position. Which was when the agency concerned suddenly decided to move him to a different job... They'll do anything to keep you on their books.

Blimey thanks for the word of warning there. Yep I found them a bit blunt cutting you off from the job once they see it coming to an end. Little warning except you knew inside that you'd finish soon. Thought that the person would tell you that they were going to cut it off before the agency did.
I think what happened to your aquaintance is really not nice. *wonders how they found out*. Could they not contact these places which they worked for and say what had happened from their point of view and say if a position comes up with them could they phone and they'll snap the job up?

's O.k. Don't cut out agencies completely, just be careful with them.
I think he found out by chance after meeting someone he used to work with when they were out one night, who asked him why he'd buggered off so fast when the management had decided to keep him on. He'd never heard a whisker of it as they'd done the 'proper' thing, which is to route all such communications through the agency.

I think I'll keep to my way of finding work which is to search and apply for jobs and to ask agencies. Hopefully eventually I will get somewhere and one may well help the other.
