Hooray, weather has improved heaps and I was able to get the bike out for the first time in several days. I didn't give it the usual weekend service, but you couldn't tell because it was still clean from the last one. I might throw some fresh oil at it tomorrow. Although it was warmer today it was still quite cool and necessitated the wearing of leggings and a long sleeved jacket over the lycra top and shorts. If this were Skegness it would have been called 'bracing'. Still doing jury service so I had to put in the extra loop to maintain the exercise level. The weather girlie on the BBC this morning said the wind would be stronger and from the west, she was spot on with that one, hard work going out, but downhill all the way coming back.

Spotted a problem when getting the bike out this morning, the computer thing was dying. It turns out that the battery has conked out and I will have to get a replacement tomorrow. I managed to read off the current total mileage so I shall be able to keep track of chain replacement intervals, I try to replace chains at 1500 to 2000 mile intervals to reduce wear on the block and the chainwheels. They would probably go on for a while longer, but how do you know when they are about to start causing trouble? Better safe than sorry I think.

On the way home from court I received a not-quite-friendly greeting from a fellow road user, "Blaaaaaaaah, Blaaah Dih Blaaaaaaah" on the horn of his BMW (It was dark so I may be wrong here.) I returned his greeting in the usual way by indicating that he only had one rear lamp working smiley - ok, in this instance I was actually right! I do hope he/she enjoyed his/her ride home tonight, I know I did.

Weather Report:
Strong wind from the west. Quite warm for the time of year. Very dull start and cloudy later, but NO RAIN. smiley - biggrin
