It always sseems to hurt more on the way down; toes bashing against the inside fronto f the boots; guess your heels do the same to the rear of the boot on teh way up, but your heels are somewhat tougher than toes smiley - yikes : I've a pair of very* nearly top of the range Zamberland boots, though I've not done any hiking in a while, you still get a bit of foot truble if you do a lot of descending in them smiley - yikessmiley - footprintssmiley - biggrin

smiley - biggrin The secrete is to get ones that are 'big enough', so that you can wear them with one pair of thick cotton or woolen socks, and that when wearing them with socks they are snug fitting, but your not getting any pressure onto your feet from the leather when you move/walk smiley - magicsmiley - biggrin Cotton especially, will help take sweet and moisture away from teh foot, helping reduce the likelyhood of blisters smiley - magicsmiley - erm Well, I seem to remember the theory is something like that smiley - biggrin : The main thing is to have them well worn in, and well looked after with rejuvinating creams used on teh leather to keep it supple, and something to keep it water proof (of course) smiley - biggrinsmiley - footprintssmiley - magic

Kor, I'm not sure, I never really did much high stuff that I can think of, things like skafell pike and that, but I don't think they are that high smiley - erm Used to do quite long distances though; did the coast to coast, from Robins hood bay to smiley - erm whatever the other place was smiley - doh : This was all ten years or so agao smiley - ermsmiley - weird I'll have to try and remember some of the places we actually went to.... smiley - dohsmiley - runsmiley - footprints
