I'm in a new quandary over my signature (s'OK)
Terri has a phobia about jabs and I guess that Madam_Cone may have one too, although she didn't express herself so forcefully.
I don't suppose that my original sig, as suggested by lil and Bel - Jab - would be any better?
I don't want to cause anyone any distress, least of all my friends. So let me try these on you - please let me have your opinions again folks (sorry)
jbk
wok
woks
......and I'll add
Jab
and
Jab - this one's Jabster in German or Dutch.
Sorry to go on about me like this, but it shows I was right to consult you and not steam ahead. It would still be open to you to call me Jabs or Jab or Jabber or Jabster or any of these if we finally do settle - would that be right, MC and Terri? It's just a matter of my signature.
You all know me by now - do any of these seem to you to fit me better than the others?
I need your help cos I'm about to have an identity crisis!

This is probaly not very helpful, but I don't mind your signature as long as I can call you Jabster.

Which bit sounds like Homer Simpson pheloxi? Or do they all? Or am I getting to sound like him?
I think I could programme Jabster on one of my function keys, but wouldn't it still be too long, Bel?

Acually, you never know, if you kept using Jab it might eventually help the phobia...but singular not plural, that really makes me shudder...
(personally i love wok; nice cosy, round things producing lovely stuff to eat...mmm...i've gone all hungry now, shall need to find a Jabberwocky to nibble!)

That would probably have to be wock or wocks then...
Even with Jabs, Terri, it's only short for Jabberwock...it doesn't really mean nasty sharp thingies.

a wock is a Dutch old fashioned glass container to preserve food like whole pears and apricots

My dearest virtual friend,
why are you so hung up about your signature name? I don't think on h2g2 it matters one bit, call me a killjoy (but only once ) but isn't it about how you converse with people? I enjoy talking to you, whether you sign off with a tom, dick,or even harriet,i care not a jot
I am off to bed now..so buenas noches Senor pinchazo, which in spanish medical terms means to inject (jab) and that sounds because you do 'inject' nice stuff and you have some lovely qualities about you and i'm waffling on....and on ...and ....on.......g'nite jabs.

Thanks for this Carino. I was always 'Jab' until someone turned up with a prior claim to it and I had to change. I think he might really have gone now , so I may well revert to:
