Dream that I fall asleep while driving, and wake up just as my car starts to roll sideways off a cliff. Was very scary dream!

generally with these dreams i take it to mean that you feel you have lost control of a situation. the fact you woke up just as the car started to roll may signify your determination that the situation is not as bad as it seems yet. you can still save it in other words.

Erm, no, in the dream it was definitely too late, because I did go off the cliff. If I had woken up a minute earlier I might have saved myself. I'm not sure what it is in real life that I seem to have lost control over - what the dream represents.

Sometimes it is not losing control, it is giving up the need to control. Was it around the time of your *friendship glitch*

Hey Creachy, I didn't mention my breakup with my friend, because I didn't think it applied to this dream. I've had other dreams where I am fighting with her, but nothing in this particular dream seemed to link to that. I think this cliff dream was a reflection of a real fear I have: I tend to sleep during the day, and stay awake at night. On those occasions where I have to get up during the day, it is hard, and the driving just after I've been asleep worries me. I've seen someone fall asleep at the wheel before - a car ahead of us on the interstate. It went off the road on a slight hill and rolled over, but the driver was not hurt. We were right behind, it happened too fast for us to do anything, but we did stop to make sure he was ok. My dream was significantly different though, in that it was an out and out very high cliff, not a slight hill. And in the dream, I was thinking, this is it, I'm gonna die. It was a very sickening feeling.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.smiley - ok

Dreams are personalized.
I always use an example of a cave.

For some it represents cold, damp, dark and unfamilar.
For others it could be much needed indestructable shelter of rock.
It could be womb like or mouth like.
It could be approaching a fear or an unknown.
You could be inside looking out at the light (the light being the key)....

I'm glad that you do check out my dream page Abbi. Yes, dreams are fascinating things. I've had dreams where I went lucid, and even knowing that I was dreaming, things seemed amazingly solid and detailed and real. It makes me wonder sometimes, when this life is over, whether we just "wake up" to another one?

My hubby has always been able to "direct" a lot of his dreams.
That is far more rare with me. But then again I really do not want toosmiley - laughI prefer to think of it as watching a natural stream running by.
